EMEA/EMNES participation at the second annual regional conference of the MENA-OECD Business Advisory Board

The Director of the Euro-Mediterranean Network for Economic Studies – EMNES and President of the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA, Prof. Rym Ayadi, participated at the second annual regional conference of the MENA-OECD Business Advisory Board (BAB), which was co-chaired by UTICA and the Spanish Confederation of Employers’ Organisation (CEOE).

The conference was organised by the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) and the MENA-OECD Competitiveness Programme, took place in Tunis on 17-19.06.19

Prof. Ayadi participated at the “Government-Business Summit: Implementing economic reforms for investment and growth”, along with H.E. Mr. Ahmed Kouchouk, Vice Minister for Fiscal Policies and Institutional Reform, Egypt, H.E. Mr. Salaheddine Mezouar, President of the Confédération Générale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM), Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Former Minister of Economy and Finance, Morocco, H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Saif, CEO of Jordan Strategy Forum, former Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources, former Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Jordan, Ms.Ouided Bouchamaoui, Former President of UTICA and Nobel Peace Prize, Tunisia, and Mr. Karim Dahou, Senior Counsellor, Global Relations Secretariat, OECD.  The session was moderated by H.E. Amb. Fathallah Sijilmassi, Former Secretary General for the Union for the Mediterranean.

At the summit she highlighted that “to unlock the dynamism and potential of MENA SMEs it is key to have more and better data, greater transparency on company financials and better connections to global value chains.”
