EMEA explores synergies with Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site Community

Partners News

EMEA was invited to present its objectives, landmarks, main research initiatives and upcoming activities at the regular meeting organized by Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site for its resident institutions in Barcelona, Spain. The meeting was an excellent opportunity to explore synergies and possible cooperation opportunities with other resident institutions such as WHO, Barcelona International Public Policy Hub (BIPP HUB), EURORDIS-Rare Diseases Europe and Banco Farmaceutico, among others.

Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site is the base operations of the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA. It is a unique landmark of outstanding beauty and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Designed by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, the site comprises a total of 27 Art Nouveau buildings and it was built between 1905 and 1930. After housing the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (one of Europe’s oldest healthcare centres) for more than eight decades, a restoration project commenced on the old pavilions in 2009. In 2014 the complex re-opened as the Sant Pau Art Nouveau site, the largest of its kind anywhere in the world.  The site has an important role in Barcelona’s cultural offer as it hosts a wide range of conferences, meetings and cultural activities such as expositions, festivals, fairs and concerts.
