The Director of Mediterranean Regional Policies Department at IEMed and Member of the Advisory Board of the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA, Roger Albinyana participated at the Fourth International #MENA Guarantee Forum, which took place in Beirut on 03-04 April 2019. The main objective of the Forum is the exchange of best practices and experiences regarding the development of the credit guarantee trade in the region.
Mr. Albinyana contributed to the session the academic and institutional vision on the present trends to support, improve and evaluate guarantee actors. He also presented the initiative promoted by EMEA and IEMED on the need for a Euro-Mediterranean Guarantee System to enhance the use of guarantee schemes in the South and East Mediterranean partners countries and to advance the cooperation between them, and to bridge the knowledge gap on the role of guarantee (credit, equity), in order to enhance MSMEs access to finance in the region.
