The Université Internationale de Rabat (UIR) joins EMNES

EMNES is honoured to announce that the Université Internationale de Rabat (UIR) has joined the partners of the Network. UIR is an internationally oriented, R&D-driven, research university, based in the Technopolis tech-zone in Rabat, Morocco. The university was founded in 2009 by the computer scientist Noureddine Mouaddib with the support of the Moroccan and French governments. It started its activities in September 2010, following the foundation stone-laying ceremony by H.M. King Mohammed VI. UIR is the first University in Morocco to have been set up as part of a partnership between the State and the private sector in the field of higher education. UIR counts more than 100 universities among its academic and research partners around the world, and more than 20 Erasmus + partners.

Furthermore, Hakima Fassi Fihri, Director of International Relations and Partnerships at UIR, joined the Associate Committee of EMNES. Hakima Fassi Fihri teaches Family Law at the Law School of UIR and she is involved in research and teaching on women’s rights in Morocco, Moroccan Family Code readings, inheritance of women in Morocco, gender equality and women empowerment in Morocco and North Africa. Hakima works also on the inheritance of women in Morocco and was one of the authors of the collective book «The Inheritance of Women in Morocco», released in 2017.
