The German Jordanian University joins EMNES

News

The Euro-Mediterranean Network for Economic Studies (EMNES) is honored to announce that the German Jordanian University (GJU) has joined the partners of the Network as an associate member.

 The German Jordanian University (GJU) was modelled on the German applied-sciences model, characterized by their focus on putting knowledge into practice and on promoting knowledge transfer. The University is intended to serve as a unique university of applied training, experiential learning, and professional excellence, oriented towards market and industry needs. It is thereby expected to have a remarkable impact on Jordan and the region as a whole, by capitalizing on the best practices and expertise in higher education in both Germany and Jordan. The University has an objective to prepare highly skilled graduates with relevant knowledge of the industry, to contribute positively to socio-economic development. CTC is the arm to connect with society.”

Dr. Serena Sandri will be the representative of the German Jordanian University to EMNES.  Dr. Sandri is Associate Professor at the School of Management and Logistic Sciences at German Jordanian University since February 2012, where she acted as Exchange Coordinator from 2013 to 2016. She is member of the Euro Mediterranean Network for Economic Studies (EMNES) and expert member of the Euro Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA). Before joining GJU, she worked, from 2007 to 2012, at the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management of Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. She received her PhD from the Technische Universität Dresden in 2007, where she acted as lecturer between 2004 and 2007. Her main fields of expertise are behavioral and experimental economics, entrepreneurship, development economics and trade policies. Her publications have appeared among else in the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, the European Review of Agricultural Economics, and Mediterranean Politics.

The Euro-Mediterranean Network for Economic Studies (EMNES) is a network of partners and associates research institutions and think tanks working on socio-economics in the EuroMediterranean. EMNES is supported by 30 Universities and Research Institutions from Algeria, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine, Slovenia, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey and the UK, and it is co-funded by the European Commission and the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA).
